Google Backs TeraWulf's Giant Anthropic Data Center in $19B Deal
Data center developer TeraWulf has signed a credit support agreement with Google for its Justified data center campus and an engineering, procurement, and construction contract with Fluor to build three data center buildings, due for phased delivery from late 2027 to the second quarter of 2028. The campus will serve Anthropic under a 20-year lease signed in July for about 401 megawatts of IT capacity, expected to generate about $19 billion (about 127.6 billion yuan) in contract revenue over the initial term. It matters because a hyperscaler directly guaranteeing a supplier's debt shows how far the AI compute build-out has pushed financing risk, with Google effectively underwriting the infrastructure behind a rival model lab.
