NVIDIA, Nokia and Leading Telecom Operators Turn Networks Into Distributed Intelligence Platforms
At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA announced that telecom operators worldwide are turning their networks into distributed intelligence platforms: T-Mobile completed the world's first commercial-network AI-RAN call (with NVIDIA and Nokia), while BT, Deutsche Telekom and Elisa are piloting AI-RAN on live networks using Nokia anyRAN plus the NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer. Nine EMEA operators are building or expanding NVIDIA compute infrastructure; Nokia and Cisco are integrating Nemotron open models into network automation software; and new ARC MGX 2U/4U configurations with RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell were released. It matters because AI-RAN is moving from labs to commercial reality — telcos are turning radio networks into sellable AI compute, which could reshape how the telecom business makes money.
