Apple Removes 19 Apps: Pet Photo and Other Apps Reportedly Hid a Second Face
Wired found a network of more than 400 domains and apps disguised as everyday services such as pet photos, language learning and AI fitness coaching; depending on a visitor’s origin and language, servers decided whether to show the normal app or a hidden interface offering nonconsensual deepfake sexual content. Apple removed 19 apps after receiving the tip. It matters because server-side switching can defeat App Store review, and deepfake abuse is industrializing behind innocent-looking storefronts.
