iOS 27.3 rule: publicly shared iCloud 'anyone with the link' content will face Apple's harmful-content checks
Apple announced on November 3 that, starting with iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS 27.3, photos, files and other content shared via iCloud's 'anyone with the link' option will be checked for harmful content. If content is judged harmful, Apple reserves the right to move, reject, modify, remove or delete it, and may ban or suspend the Apple Account, block the email or phone number from registering a new account, and refer cases to law enforcement. The checks apply only to public sharing, not to 'send a copy' or links shared with specific people, and publicly shared content loses end-to-end encryption even with Advanced Data Protection on.
