Report: Volkswagen-Xpeng Architecture to Expand Beyond China to Volkswagen, Skoda and CUPRA Models

Manager Magazin reported, citing sources, that Volkswagen is considering bringing the electronic and electrical architecture it co-developed with Xpeng to Europe for its core brands, covering about 75 percent of next-generation models. The move would weaken US partner Rivian's role in the group's software strategy, a partnership involving 5.8 billion dollars in investment, and it shows how far China's EV software stack has come, since software has long been Volkswagen's weak point.
