Unity reportedly weighs going private, having discussed a $25 billion valuation with investors
Game-engine maker Unity has held take-private talks with a consortium including Silver Lake and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund at a valuation of about $25 billion, Reuters reported. The news came as Unity reported third-quarter revenue up 32% and its first quarterly GAAP profit since its IPO, sending its shares up nearly 15%. A deal at that size would rank among the largest software take-privates and underlines private equity's appetite for game-engine assets.
