Musk confirms SpaceX has completed a $40 billion debt financing to buy GPUs
Elon Musk said on X that SpaceX has completed $40 billion in debt financing, mainly redeemable debt, to pay for GPU hardware due for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2027. Reuters had earlier reported that SpaceX was in talks with banks and asset managers to raise $40 billion for Nvidia AI chips. The deal shows how large the capital demands of the AI buildout have become, with even a single hardware purchase now measured in tens of billions of dollars.
