OpenAI has released GPT-6.1 Terra, a mid-tier model built for computer use: it reads what is on screen and operates apps with the mouse and keyboard. It is rolling out to Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Education subscribers at no extra charge, and its API price is half that of GPT-5.6 Terra. Why it matters: OpenAI says it matches the flagship GPT-6 Astra on an agentic benchmark at about a tenth of the price per token, which could make computer-using agents much cheaper to run.
