China's broadcasting regulator: AI penetration in the radio, television and online audiovisual industry to reach 95% or more by 2030
China's National Radio and Television Administration said in its 15th Five-Year Plan for broadcasting and online audiovisual services, issued in October, that AI penetration in the industry should reach 95% or more by 2030, with more than 150 million new smart terminals in use. The plan also calls for a distribution system in which big and small screens empower each other and long and short video work together, pushing broadcast media fully into the internet arena. The target signals that AI is set to become standard across China's broadcasting sector within five years, from content production to distribution and devices.
