Ant Group has released Lingguang 2.0, shifting its AI assistant from passively answering commands to proactively spotting needs and managing tasks over time, backed by cross-session memory, long-horizon scheduling and a dedicated cloud host that keeps tasks running after the user leaves the chat. It is integrated with the Alipay ecosystem and supports open tools such as MCP and CLI, covering bills, travel, DingTalk class-group notices and other long-lived tasks. This matters because it moves a leading Chinese AI assistant from a Q&A tool toward a persistent agent that manages everyday affairs on the user's behalf.
