Oracle now targets at least $30B in free cash flow for fiscal 2029, after burning $23.7B in fiscal 2026 building AI data centers, and says the cash drain should turn in the second half of fiscal 2028 as capital spending peaks in fiscal 2027 and 2028 and then steps down. It matters because the plan, including $90B to $95B of capital spending this year and a $20B cap on further capital raising through fiscal 2030, is Oracle’s answer to investor worries about the cost of its AI buildout, and the shares jumped as much as 9.6% after falling 33% this year.
