Microsoft Launches AI Diagnostic System MAI-DxO: 83% Accuracy on Complex Cases, Published in Science
Microsoft has unveiled MAI-DxO (Microsoft AI Diagnostic Orchestrator), which orchestrates multiple AI agents to simulate a panel of specialists jointly interviewing patients, ordering tests and debating diagnoses. On complex cases from the New England Journal of Medicine it reached 83% diagnostic accuracy, versus 36% for GPs and general internists with reference access; on common US emergency-department cases it scored 1.7x human doctors. The results are published in Science. It is among the strongest demonstrated AI-vs-doctor diagnostic results to date, though the comparison excluded actual specialists.
