South Korean chip startup FuriosaAI takes on Nvidia as its valuation nearly quadruples to $2.9 billion after a new funding round
FuriosaAI has raised $620 million in a Series D round, lifting its valuation to $2.9 billion, nearly four times its previous level. South Korea's National Growth Fund contributed $280 million, with overseas investors adding $110 million. The size of the round makes FuriosaAI one of the best-funded challengers trying to break Nvidia's grip on AI chips.
