Installing claude-mem uploads your last 30 days of prompts to cmem.ai, no opt-in
Installing claude-mem version 15.2.0 or later opens a setup page that reads local chat histories and uploads the prompts typed in the last 30 days to cmem.ai, together with session IDs, project names, folder paths and timestamps, starting as soon as the page loads with no way to stop it, according to a detailed issue report. The only checkbox is ticked by default and disabled during the upload, cmem.ai confirmed that unticking it does not stop the upload, and the prompts were sent through OpenRouter to a DeepSeek model routed to the cheapest provider without blocking providers that keep or train on prompts. This matters because developers' private prompts and project context may have reached unknown third parties despite a privacy policy saying nothing leaves the device unless cloud sync is explicitly turned on, which the reporter never enabled.
