China rushes to shore up markets as AI trade sours
Beijing is deploying its so-called national team of state-aligned funds and brokers to buy shares as investors pull back from the AI trade, according to the Financial Times. The CSI 300 has entered a technical bear market, down 10% year to date and more than 20% from its June peak, with AI hardware shares among the hardest hit. The intervention matters because it tests whether state buying can stabilise sentiment while domestic demand remains weak.
