Tencent and Ant Group back former Doubao PC lead in $200M raise
Shanghai-based personal AI assistant startup Today AI has cumulatively raised $200 million from investors including IDG Capital, Tencent, 5Y Capital, Ant Group and Sequoia China, according to 5Y Capital. Founder Qi Junyuan was formerly ByteDance Feishu product VP and head of the Doubao PC client; its personal AI assistant Today launched on September 25 across iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. Why it matters: Tencent and Ant co-investing signals that big tech is now directly backing independent personal-agent startups as the personal AI assistant race heats up.
