Tenstorrent hits $6.2B valuation to scale open-weight AI chips
Inference chip startup Tenstorrent has raised $1.5 billion at a $6.2 billion valuation, more than double its $2.6 billion valuation from late 2024. The round, led by Trace Capital and Innovation X, follows reported acquisition interest from Intel and Qualcomm at valuations of up to $5 billion; CEO Jim Keller said the company chose to remain independent after its Galaxy servers showed they could run DeepSeek models. The new capital will go toward scaling chips tailored for serving open-weight AI models and video generation.
