Cairn: Open Windows into AI-Driven Cyber Operations

NorForge investigators found more than 20 publicly exposed control panels for Cairn, an AI agent system that autonomously probes targets for vulnerabilities, that appear tied to malicious hacking operations. The largest cluster ran over 1,100 attack projects across 14 panels, mostly targeting e-commerce and payment sites in the US, Japan and Australia for persistent access, while another focused on stealing credit cards and crypto. The exposed panels leaked targets, vulnerabilities and even credentials, offering a rare window into how criminals are operationalizing AI hacking agents.
