Salesforce doubles down on AI, announces ~$5.66B acquisition of Braze
Salesforce will acquire AI marketing company Braze for about $5.66 billion in cash, paying $47.50 per share — a 58.1% premium over its previous close — with the deal expected to close in fiscal 2028. Braze serves roughly 2,770 customers including Canva, Instacart and Venmo, and analysts say its AI tools give Salesforce the “real-time engagement layer” its marketing business lacked; Braze shares jumped more than 50% on the news. The deal is Salesforce's latest big bet on AI reshaping enterprise software, after an earlier $3.6 billion AI acquisition this year.
