One hacker used AI agents and a few thousand dollars to break into 100 sites
Reuters reports that a hacker used AI agents run through the open-source Cairn platform to break into websites of more than 100 companies, with Deere, SharkNinja and Cummins among the victims Reuters identified. The campaign attempted intrusions on over 1,200 sites for roughly $5,000 in token costs, about $50 per successful hack. It is real-world evidence that commercially available AI agents can now carry out complex intrusions end to end with little human supervision.
