Compute for 2027 is basically already gone

Pichai said that if a customer asked Google for compute capacity in 2027 today, delivering it would be 'incredibly difficult,' adding that Google had to lease short-term compute last year just to serve customers. It matters because it quantifies the AI compute shortage at the very top of the industry: even Google cannot guarantee capacity two years out.
