AI code-testing startup Blacksmith hits $1B valuation
Blacksmith has raised a $66 million Series C led by Sequoia Capital, valuing the two-year-old CI startup at $1 billion — nearly double the $550 million from its Series B just two months earlier. Founded in 2024, it now serves more than 10,000 companies, and its weekly code checks surged from 5 million to 90 million this year. It matters because AI coding tools are generating code faster than ever, and the bottleneck has shifted to testing it — this round bets that Blacksmith owns that bottleneck.
